Read more: careers.bms.com/working-with-usPosition Summary:This role will be accountable for performance management of a product value stream at a commercial cell therapy manufacturing site located at Summit, NJ. Key responsibilities include monitoring manufacturing operation segment data and utilizing analytics to optimize flow of apheresis receipt, cell processing/manufacturing, testing, release, drug product packaging and distribution for either Abecma or Breyanzi.

Reporting to the Product Value Stream Leader/Executive Director of Cell Therapy Operations, the incumbent will maintain a vigilant focus on continuous improvement of product quality, site capacity, cycle time, labor utilization, and productivity. This will involve building/managing a small team and developing effective cross-functional relationships in order to attain patient delivery KPIs and spearhead cost reduction efforts. The incumbent will liaison with Site and Global MSAT, Planning, and OPEX functions as well as interface daily with Manufacturing Operations personnel.

The incumbent will follow and motivate personnel to actively collaborate and exude role model BMS values.Key Responsibilities:Lead Performance Management of the Cell Therapy Product Value Stream and take accountability for efficient delivery of quality medicine to our patientsStrive to attain and support all defined goals for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and PeopleMaintain close connections with Planning/Scheduling and Manufacturing Support/Technical Services Value Stream personnel, to the extent of occasionally contributing to those areas due to increased work volume or absence coverageImplement innovative solutions which sets BMS apart as the leader of cell therapy manufacturingIngratiate best-in-class performance management practices to best prepare the Site and BMS global Cell Therapy network for future needsWholly communicate progress to key stakeholders through data-driven evidenceUtilize BMS network resources to ensure critical objectives are satisfiedPromote lean practices and mentor operational personnel towards process improvementsUnlock behavioral mechanisms to reduce sources of human error and facilitate key project delivery towards increasing the number of patients servedGuide a small team to further communicate and implement best performance practicesQualifications & Experience:Education:B.S. in Engineering or Life Sciences/Masters or higher degree in a biology, chemistry, engineering, or other related field eg, MS or MBA preferred.

Experience:15 + years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing operations in Cell Therapy Manufacturing and/or Biologics Manufacturing, manufacturing science and technology, manufacturing systems, and/or quality assurance with at least 2 years of managing people. Work effectively with US FDA and other regulatory agencies. Working knowledge of QSR, GMP, FDA, GAMP, ISO and other applicable standards.

Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement of cycle times, cGMP processes and/or Quality improvementsStrong understanding of the holistic key business drivers of the industry/organizationAstute problem solving skills, leveraging data (qualitative and quantitative) to identify insights and inform recommendations; Exudes urgency to close time-sensitive issuesExceptional organizational skills, with ability to multi-task several objectives in parallel and to work independently with high level of accountability.Advanced presentation and verbal communication skills. Must be able to interact and communicate effectively at all levels of the organizationAbility to work in a highly matrixed environment.
